At this level the training is split between you and your horse about 60/40 respectively. You are learning to train your horse and improve him athletically while working on improving your technical, mental and physical skills as a rider. You are also learning how to train yourself to complement your discipline, to help you work on your horse's weakness and to make the best out of his strengths.
The ridden training part of the Training Plan is tailor-made for you upon completing your Assessment Day. Once your short-term and long-term goals are set the training can begin.
It will address the technical, physical and mental skills relevant to your aims and help you train your horse towards those aims.
Lessons normally last an hour but all Academy instructors will make sure both you and your horse finish on a good note regardless of the time constraints.
The Development Programme will also give you a chance to join schooling sessions and Intensive Training Days at different locations, training events with other Academy riders and lecture-demos - all at your level and relevant to you and your horse.
